Look at the learning environment
At home, a quiet table and reliable routine matter. Online, a stable connection and a space where the learner can speak freely matter just as much. Before comparing formats, check whether each environment supports concentration.
Consider the subject and the learner
Some learners prefer explaining their reasoning face to face. Others are comfortable using a shared screen or digital writing tools. Discuss the tasks that lessons will involve and how the learner responds to each format.
Make the schedule sustainable
Consider school commitments, travel, and time zones. The best arrangement is one you can maintain. Allow time after lessons for the learner to review feedback while it is still fresh.
Review the fit
After the first lessons, discuss what is clear, what is difficult, and whether the setup is working. Castellan can help with communication and review the arrangement when needed.
